Why are we called Snakeliner?

As we often produce long vehicles, we were looking for an exposition after we've unconventionally designed our "bay-roof-bead" (Erkerdachwulst), that usually consists of some curves and spikes. One day someone told us to cover that thing with snake-leather because it may look cool, from there it wasn't very far to our name. This detail belongs, next to many others, to our distinctive features, but it is no duty if unsatisfactory – we stay flexible.
